Yosemite Meadow, Springtime Reflection, California
The peak of springtime comes to Yosemite Valley in May, often flooding meadows with melting snow
from the high country. That melting snow turns Yosemite Falls into a thundering
torrent that can be seen and heard throughout the valley. This photograph was captured
in the late morning from the edge of a flooded meadow where
a reflection of Yosemite Falls was visible under a cobalt blue sky. My tripod
and I had to stand in a few inches of water to make this composition, which
necessitated being absolutely still for quite a while to allow ripples in the
reflection to dissipate, and avoid creating more.
