Wagler's pit vipers live throughout Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippine Islands, Singapore, and southern Thailand. They live in the tropical rain forest and eat small mammals, birds, and other vertebrates. Wagler's pit vipers do not like to be near other snakes. Like all pit vipers, they have a broad traingular head when viewed from above, long fangs, and pit organs on each side of the head between the nostril and eye. They use these pit organs to detect prey before injecting it with venom from their fangs. The scientific name for these snakes is Tropidolaemus wagleri.
