Tumalo Creek in Oregon's central Cascade Range goes over several waterfalls, but at 89 feet tall and 25 feet wide Tumalo Falls is the most impressive. The origin of the name Tumalo is unknown. Because Tumalo Creek is fed by glacial melt it is thought that the original name may have been Tumallowa, a Klamath Indian word meaning "icy water".
