This plunge waterfall on Sailors Creek has a height of 20 meters (66 feet). At low flow it is a single waterfall but becomes a twin waterfall during wet periods. After its plunge into the fern lined gully the creek meanders through a series of of rock pools. Previous flooding and debris made them inaccessible when I visited. Note the enormous tree trunk near the bottom right hand side of the waterfall.
The creek and waterfall is thought to be named for two sailors who jumped ship to seek gold in the area during the 1850s gold rush.
