HUMMINGBIRDS

Hummingbirds are found only in the western hemisphere and probably have the most intensely iridescent feathers known in birds, with colors ranging over the whole visible light spectrum. They are the only bird that can fly backwards and even upside down. Depending on the species and the size, they flap their wings between 18 to 200 times per second and often all you see is a blur of wings.
