Lorikeets are small to medium-sized arboreal parrots that have brush-tipped
tongues for feeding on nectar of blossoms and soft fruit. They are widely
distributed throughout the Australasian region, which includes south-eastern
Asia, Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste and Australia.
