Latourell Falls, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Oregon's 249 foot high Latourell Falls is the third highest waterfall in the Cascade Mountains. Water going over the edge of the cliff makes almost no contact with the rock face so it makes a vertical plunge into the pool below. The rock face here also shows a great example of a columnar basalt formation, with obvious hexagonal columns on the overhanging cliff.
