Grand Canyon, Sunrise Beacon

This photograph shows O'Neill Butte glowing brightly as the first light of a new day touches the interior of Arizona's Grand Canyon. The south Kaibab trail switchbacks can be seen in this photograph. The adventurous can take this very strenuous trail all the way to the Colorado River, connect with the north Kaibab trail and end up atop Grand Canyon's north rim. The rim to rim hike takes a minimum of three days with an elevation change of nearly 5000 feet in each direction.
