Aquatic Vegetation, Yellowstone River, Wyoming
The vegetation shown in this photograph is growing on the bottom of the
Yellowstone River under several feet of water. Use of a polarizing filter and
meticulous positioning to eliminate reflections and glare from the water's
surface make it look almost like there is no water present. River bottom Vegetation like this makes an ideal habitat for fish like the native cutthroat trout
and the aquatic creatures and insects they eat.
