Absaroka Range, Springtime
In this photograph the northern Absaroka Mountain Range is seen from the
southern Beartooth Range near the borders of Wyoming and Montana. Spring
comes late and winter comes early in this harsh climate. This is dramatically demonstrated
by the fact that this photograph was captured in the middle of June. By October winter will
begin to envelop the area again, leaving a very brief
period for alpine plants to bloom and produce seeds.
