A calm envelops the ocean as the sun dips below the horizon and the sky takes on the colors of sunset.

This photograph was captured when the sunset colors were their most intense. This happened nearly fifteen minutes after the sun went below the horizon and just before the colors began fading. Since one cannot know in advance when the colors will fade, the only way to capture an image with the most intense colors is to capture images frequently. When fading is noticed the "best" image will already have been captured.
