Sunset, Near Bears Ears National Monument, Utah

I was late getting to this location. I set up my equipment in a frenzy and began
capturing photographs. After instinctively capturing the first two without even
taking time to see what I was getting, I noticed that the sunset was rapidly fading.
I stopped, unsure if I had gotten anything to make the evening's journey
worthwhile. Fortunately
the first image I captured showed the color at its most intense,
literally a couple of seconds before the sun started dipping below the clear
horison in the west. Luck was definitely an important companion that evening.
