Crimson Rosella, Victoria, Australia

The crimson rosella (Platycercus elegans) is a very colorful parrot native to eastern and south eastern Australia. There are several varieties of rosella. The red-coloured types are generally known as crimson rosella, with the alternate names Red Lowry, Pennant's parakeet, Campbell parakeet, mountain parrot, mountain lowry or just lowry.
