Pink Granite Boulders and Surf, Victoria, Australia
Composed of pink granite, these rocks
once formed cliffs and sea stacks along Victoria's rugged
coastline.
The ancient rock forms continue to evolve under the influence of wind, weather, and ocean surf. The
ocean and shoreline here are homes for incredibly varied life that includes enormous humpback, southern
right, and killer whales and Australia's little penguins (aka "fairy
penguins), which are about the size of a bowling pin.
Although these rocks do not look pink, various shades of pink to gold,
orange, and brown are seen in cut and polished pieces.
