"The Sinks" are an area along the Little River comprised of hydraulic rapids and deep pools. Folklore tells of a logging train derailing here and plunging into the Little River. They say it was never found because the bottom could not be reached. In reality the bottom can be reached, but very strong downward currents can easily trap anyone trying to find it.
