False Kiva, Evening, Canyonlands, Utah
The False Kiva is a human-made stone circle of unknown origin located in
a cave in a remote and difficult to access area of Canyonlands National Park.
Due to vandalism the site was closed in early August of 2018 and entering is now a violation of
the Archeological Protection Act of 1979, Violators may be subject
to fines and jail time. The onslaught of humanity is having similar effects
everywhere. Because of it countless places exist only in photographs today.
This image of Canyonlands National Park's False Kiva was captured in 2008
and first posted online in February of 2024.
