Moose are the largest extant species in the deer family
and typically inhabit boreal and mixed deciduous forests in the Northern
Hemisphere. A mature bull moose can stand up to 6.9 feet (2.1 meters) high at the shoulder. Bulls weigh 840 to 1500 pounds (380–700 kg)
and are between 7.9 to 10 feet (2.4 to 3.2 meters) long. Their massive antlers
are 4 to 5 feet (1.2 to 1.5 meters) wide and weigh 25 to 30 pounds (11 to
14 Kg).
