| This stream near Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills State Park zigzags over eroded blackhand sandstone, which composes most of the park. The shape of the rocks over which the water flows forms a swirling vortex in the water's flow as seen at the top of the image. Vortices often form in rivers and streams on the quieter downstream side of large rocks. | |||
