Acadia National Park in Maine is dotted with glacier carved ponds and lakes. With its crystal clear waters flanked by mountains of granite, Jordan Pond is among the loveliest. This image was captured on a breezy and absolutely clear spring day when small waves lapped the shoreline of Jordan Pond. In a small cove, waves bouncing off of the rocky shore mixed with incoming waves to produce a quickly changing jumble of wave patterns. Each bulge in the water's surface acted like a lens, focusing the brilliant rays of the sun on the bottom of the pond in a dancing pattern of light.
