Blue Hen Falls, Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Vividly colored autumn leaves decorate the large boulders in Spring Creek near the base of Blue Hen Falls. Located in northeast Ohio's Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Blue Hen Falls is about fifteen feet high. The hard rock shelf over which the water tumbles is composed of Berea Sandstone deposited 360 million years ago over a thick layer of softer Bedford shale, which forms the walls of the waterfall.
